Editorial policy
Honest Comedy Journal aims for writing that is clear about what it describes, careful with claims, and open about the difference between an observable choice and a matter of taste.
Accuracy and context
We check factual details against the material available to us and frame interpretations as interpretations, not settled facts. We avoid presenting a personal reaction as a universal audience response, and we provide enough context for readers to understand the point being discussed.
Independence and disclosure
Editorial decisions are made for their relevance to the publication, not as a promise of favourable coverage. Any sponsored or partner material is clearly labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work.
Corrections
If a reader spots an error, they can send the relevant passage and a clear explanation through the Contact page. We review correction requests and amend confirmed errors with wording that makes the change understandable.
Illustrations
Some illustrations may be generated with artificial intelligence. Where applicable, the image or its accompanying caption will identify that use; illustrations are not presented as documentary evidence.
